Connective Community Events is a brand of Connective Africa (Pty) Ltd, a South African company. We operate South Africa's first curated IT professional community, hosting invitation-only events for senior technology professionals.

We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. What information we collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you:

• Request an invitation to a CCE event
• Submit a sponsorship enquiry
• Complete The CCE Access Gap Report survey
• Contact us directly by email, phone, or WhatsApp

This information may include your full name, job title, organisation, email address, mobile number, and dietary or access requirements where relevant to event attendance.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected:

• To process your event invitation request and confirm your attendance
• To send event-related communications including reminders, updates, and post-event follow-ups
• To respond to sponsorship enquiries and manage sponsor relationships
• To conduct and publish The CCE Access Gap Report research (in anonymised, aggregated form only)
• To contact you about future CCE events where you have given consent

4. Sharing your information with sponsors

It is standard practice at B2B events for sponsors to receive a delegate list. At CCE events, we only share your information with event sponsors and partners if you have explicitly consented to this when completing your invitation request.

If you consent, we may share your name, job title, organisation, and contact details with confirmed CCE event sponsors for the purpose of introductions relevant to the event. We do not share your email address, phone number, or any other personal details without your specific consent.

If you do not consent, your information will not be shared with any sponsor or third party.

5. How long we keep your information

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, and in accordance with applicable law. Typically:

• Event attendee records are retained for up to 3 years after the event
• Sponsor and partner records are retained for the duration of the relationship and up to 5 years thereafter
• Survey responses used in research are retained in anonymised form indefinitely

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time — see Section 7.

6. How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Your information is stored securely and accessed only by authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes.

7. Your rights under POPIA

As a data subject under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
• Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Withdraw your consent to any processing at any time
• Object to the processing of your personal information
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

8. Cookies and website data

Our website uses basic analytics to understand how visitors interact with our content. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. Form submissions are processed through Formspree, which operates its own privacy policy available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any material changes will be communicated to registered event attendees by email. The current version is always available at connective.africa/privacy.
